Here is a selection of some of the many attractive walks on offer in the low mountain range, in alpine areas and on the alpine pastures.
At a height of 1300 m, where the alpine pastures
begin, the panorama stretches far across the Dolomites
and the views take in almost the whole of the Eisacktal.
Here you can gain an impression of the life of our farmers, who look after their stock on the high alpine pastures, year in, year out and pursue the ancient occupations of the shepherd and alpine dairy-man. A "Ratscher" (chat) with a visitor is always a welcome diversion here. Mountain cheeses and smoked ham can be enjoyed at many of the lodges on the Alm which are generally open in the autumn.
